Ramiele Malubay Sings Anthem At Pacquiao-Cotto Fight

Former “Idol” contestant Ramiele Malubay sang the “Star Spangled Banner” before the fight, which took place Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Ramiele Malubay was the ninth place finisher on season seven of the show and had moved to the Phillippines to pursue her musical career following her “Idol” commitments. In 2008, she was nominated as a Favorite TV Personality by the JC Penney Asian Excellence Awards.

Celebrities such as Will Ferrell, Magic Johnson, Mickey Rourke, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Derek Jeter and Mark Wahlberg were spotted in the arena before the fight. Manny Pacquiao defeated Miguel Cotto with a twelfth-round TKO.
