Leonids Meteor Shower 2009.
The prolific Leonids meteor shower 2009 would be offering 30 to 300 sights of shooting stars an hour. Viewers in North America and Europe would be enjoying the Leonids meteor shower the most. November 17, 2009 would be the night for the amazing show as predicted by the experts.

The radiant location in the constellation Leo, a point in the sky where the meteors pour down, suggests the title of ‘Leonid’ and it’s an inexhaustible process that’s associated with the comet ‘Tempel-Tuttle.’ As per a prediction and a safe calculation by the experts, 2009 peaking may produce even 300 to 500 shooting stars during one single hour on November 17.

This year, the best and most suitable place to watch this amazing natural phenomenon would be North America and a large part of European region. Everyone interested is advised to take their positions away from the city lights in order to have more bright and clear view at around 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. Most probably the ratio per hour would be 30 to 50 droppings in those particular areas.

The same sensational activity would be visible even in Asian region but in the predawn hours. NASA Meteoroid Environment Office Head William Cooke commented the other day that the modern technologies have made it possible to predict such amazing events beforehand.

The reason the meteors are generated has been described as whenever the sun closes in on a comet, it causes the ice to melt and the same when added with dust and other smaller particles called meteoroids ejected from the surface is evaporated. The solar wind then atomizes the ice and dust thus the spray of microscopic debris collides with atoms and ionizes the atmosphere.
