In the metro Atlanta area of Georgia, more than a foot of rain overnight Sunday caused massive flooding and forced Gwinnett county schools to close down, in addition to highways and railroads in the area. The flooding also affected Paulding, Douglas, and Carroll counties. At least two deaths are reported. A woman was swept away in her car traveling through a flooded section of Lawrenceville Highway and drowned. A man’s body was found downstream from Douglas Creek.
