Black Friday deals 2009 – the search is on already

Black Friday deals 2009 – The search is on for early ads from retailers about their Black Friday sales. Traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year, the day after Thanksgiving has come to be called Black Friday. This year, with the economy in a slump, some retailers have attempted to catch shoppers even earlier than that by making their Black Friday sales ads available for them to plan purchases and make comparisons.

Sears was one of the first retailers to make its Black Friday deals known. They open at 4:00 a.m. on that day. KMart opens at 6:00 a.m. and has also posted some of its Black Friday deals online. Target will open at 5:00 a.m. and has posted ads. One of the most highly anticipated Black Friday ads is for Best Buy, which is a large electronic retailer; typically electronics are a popular big-ticket gift for the holidays.

Retailers with deals publicized online or elsewhere so far for 2009 include but may not be limited to:

* AceHardware
* Craft Warehouse
* Dell
* Half Price Books
* Harbor Freight
* KMart
* Kohl’s
* Lowe’s
* Northern Tool
* Office Depot
* Old Navy
* Sears
* Staples
* Target
* Tommy Hilfiger

Many young adults go shopping on Black Friday both for the holidays and also for entertainment while they are off from school and/or work. However, many young adults also have to work that day, since retailers frequently employ high school and college students and may even add to their workforce from this age group to help with the holiday season.

Searching online by store and zip code is one way to find the Black Friday ads. There are also several websites that provide the deals listed by retailer and even offer a subscription service via email to notify shoppers of when they have more deals or retailers posted to their websites. A few of these websites are: theblackfriday.com; black-friday.net; and blackfriday.info.
